For Sophia's birthday we bought her this baby doll that does everything. I can't remember what it's called, but I do know, we paid $70 for it! I know, ridiculous, but I had to get it for her because I spoil her, yes I know I do! Anyway, a few days after her bday, I see that this dumb doll is on sale for $30!!!!! Oh I was fuming! In the end, I paid $30 for it...that's all I'll say. ;-)
Back to the actual doll....this doll asks for things like it's bear, a popsicle, kisses, etc. So the other day, the little princess conned me into staying home because she had a cold. I'm working from home, sitting on the couch and she is playing with a billion babies. I said, "hey you want me to go get your baby doll we got you for your birthday?" Of course she does! I get the doll and she's playing....well she's getting frustrated. LOL I was cracking up. This doll asked for something different every couple of seconds! She's grunting and errring...it was the cutest thing. So then she lays the baby in the crib and it asks for kisses and she yells at it "after you go to bed!"
Another funny, we've been trying to make her more confident and able to make friends at gymnastics. So we try to tell her when she does a good job at things etc. Well this must have rubbed off quite well because this morning she told Ang (Daycare) "Ang you did a good job gettin more chocolate milk at the store!"
I could not have asked for a more amazing little princess in my life. Thank you God!

The Princess & the dentist
Yesterday was the big day, we took Sophie to the dentist. She had been so excited all week to go because Peppa Pig went to the dentist, and that's one of her favorite shows. She was a little nervous when the day actually came though, she didn't want to brush her teeth before we went. I said, fine, it's not the end of the world.
The hygienist came out and asked if I wanted to go first, or her, I of course said her to get it over with before she really chickened out! We get her back in the room, and she wants nothing to do with the hygienist (Mrs. Bonnie). Mrs. Bonnie hands her an Ariel toothbrush, which she was very excited about. I finally talk her into sitting in my lap in the chair and letting Mrs. Bonnie count her teeth.
She sat in the waiting room like an angel, reading magazines with Daddy :) |
I swear the didn't gas her, not sure why her eyes are rolling back |
She has 10 teeth on top and 10 on bottom! Yay!
Then Mrs. Bonnie introduced her to the tickler, and asked what flavor she likes best, bubble gum or strawberry. She likes both, but we went with strawberry. Sophia just sat there and let Mrs. Bonnie clean her teeth, then she sat up and said, "I need a drink!" LOL so Mrs. Bonnie gave her the rinse tool and sucked it out, she thought that was neat.
Dr. Miranda came in, and counted her teeth again, still 20 teeth in there! Then he used his little mirror and made sure there were no cavities! Yaaay Sophia!!! We were so proud of our little princess....she got to pick out a toy from the prize box (she chose a bracelet with a tooth on it) and she got to go to the "ABC store" (Toys R Us) and pick out not just one, but two barbies!
Ahhh, Success!

The Princess & the proud moment
Last night Sophia had gymnastics again. She didn't want to go, but some how Daddy talked her into going. She goes to class, does amazing as usual, and then at the end of class we get her dressed and we are walking out. A little girl in front of us says to her Mommy, "Mommy, that's Sophie." I just smiled so big! I asked Sophie what that little girl's name was and she told me Sophie. I'm not sure if it was or not, but I thought it was so cute that some other little girl knows my baby. She must stand out in class :)
Then last night, after I got home from prenatal yoga with Amber, we are laying in bed and Sophia says "Mommy, I'm glad you're home!" Ugh, that kid, just melts my heart!!!!

The Princess & The little brother/sister
Ever since we told Sophia that I am pregnant, she tells me that I am having a "Baby Gracie". We try to tell her that this may not be the case. One of her favorite shows (and mine) is Olivia (the pig), and Olivia has "rules of life," one of them being "52. If your mom is having a baby and she asks you whether you want a brother or a sister, that does not mean you're really gonna get the kind you ask for." This commercial came on the T.V. the other day and I said, "see Sophie, it might be a boy" and that little booger said right back to me "but it might be a giiiirrrrl!" I couldn't believe it...she just cracks me up.

The Princess & the gymnastics class
When I found out I was pregnant with Sophia, I was beyond ecstatic, I was so happy to have a little princess. And now that I am pregnant again (almost 5 weeks), I am thinking I'd like to have another little princess. However, last night at gymnastics started to change my mind....
This morning I am telling Ang (Daycare) about it and she is telling me how her daughter is the same way. And then she tells me how her friends (sisters and their cousin) used to be mean to the neighbor girl because she had short hair, they would tell her that she couldn't be a part of the long haired club. WTH! Why are girls so mean!?! I know when I was in 3rd grade, I was in a little click of girls and the two "ring leaders" would decide each week that we wouldn't talk to one of us. Well, my mom told me I shouldn't do that because they will do it to me one week and it won't be nice, and they did. I can't remember if I participated though, but I know it hurt my feelings when my so-called friends weren't speaking to me for no reason, for an entire week! Not a very nice thing to do Stefanie and Emily! (the two ring leaders). I will not let my daughter be a part of that shenanigans! I will teach her to be nice! So, now I'm wondering...maybe I do want a little boy? I don't know if I can handle this with two girls! I will be in jail more than I will be home! LOL
Wednesday nights, Sophia has gymnastics class. She lives for gymnastics, she might be my little princess but she is the gymnastics Queen. So, we take her to gymnastics class, I prepare her and tell her she can't keep coming out of class without telling Mrs. Janet, and I try to tell her what to do if other little girls are mean to her. She gets her feelings hurt so easily. I tell her that if a little girl tells her she can't do something or whatever they might say to her, she should just say, "you need to be nice!" and walk away. (Or something along those lines). So here she is ready to go in, and she decides, she doesn't want to go to gymnastics anymore. I'm heart broken at this. How can my little gymnast not want to go in anymore? This is what she lives for! So, Daddy finally talks her into going in. She stayed in for most of the class, then at the end she came out with the excuse that she had to pee (even though she just went before class). Needless to say, she did not go to the bathroom. And she used the excuse that a little girl was mean to her. Daddy and I don't believe this, so he takes her back in. Mrs. Janet said she did great! I guess she is just intimidated. I hope some other little girl will introduce herself to Sophie and want to be her friend because I don't see her doing it on her own. :(

The Princess & the Doctor
Well, the doctor visit was successful. Sophia says she loves Dr. H. more than any other Dr. She was amazing in her appointment. Dr. H. asked her all kinds of things like what she likes to eat and drink, her colors, her numbers....and my girl kicked butt. If it was a test in school, she would have gotten 110%! I was one proud mama! Although, I was a little nervous when she asked about what kind of veggies she likes, eek, Sophie yelled "Candy!" Of course we all laughed and then I reminded her that she likes carrots and broccoli. Everything was great until the poor little thing had to get her flu shot. Thankfully that was the only shot she had to get. She cried, but of course, Mommy and Daddy took her to DQ and got her chocolate ice cream, that makes everything all better. :)
For the past couple weeks, the little princess has been hooked on the movie, 'Barbie in a Fairy Secret'. I've watched this movie several times and I'm quite sick of it. I've been begging her to watch 'Barbie in a Fashion Fairytale' and 'Princess Charm School', but she says no, little turd. So last night she is in a good mood, she digs through some DVDs and she says, "Mommy, we can watch Princess Charm School if you want?!" (in that sweet little innocent voice, sounding like she's doing me a favor) I'm shocked by this and I say, "Really?!!" She tells me yes, so I said okay as long as she went and got her jammies on. She amazes me everyday, always makes me smile.

The Princess & the shirt
Since this is my first post, I feel I should give some background information. My name is Stephanie and my husband of 5 years, Todd and I have a 3 year old little princess named Sophia Elayna. She is the most amazing little person to me. She has so much passion about everything, and when I say everything, I mean everything.
Let me start off by saying something sweet about the little princess before I go into the awful morning we had. She, along with my mother, has such a huge heart. She gets her feelings hurt very easily and she just likes to see people happy. Now, saying that, she does have her mother’s attitude…..Did I say that? I must admit she does. My mother seems to think it’s because when I was pregnant with Sophia, I didn’t have much patience with anyone or anything and therefore, that sunk into my child. So anyway, back to the story of Sophia. Last night, she asked very nicely if she could watch ‘Tangled’ and since she was being such a good girl, I said sure, as long as she got in the bathtub (that’s a whole other story in itself). So now she’s had her bath, she’s in her jammies and her movie previews are playing, advertising ‘Cars 2’. She says, “I don’t like race cars.” I say to her, “oh no?” she continues, “No, I like princesses, flowers and butterflies, yeah those kind of stuff.” Well now I’m chuckling because she is so freakin’ adorable and yet she sounds like my Korean friend David at work “those kind of stuff.” See, she can be a sweet little thing.
And now on to this morning….
So I decided, which it’s probably my own fault, she needed to start wearing some of the nice Gymboree clothes that my mom bought her. Those clothes are expensive! I give her two shirts to pick from. Of course, she doesn’t want to wear either, mind you, these shirts are so adorable, one is a white long sleeve that says ‘CUTIE’ on it and the other is one I got her from The Children’s Place that has a bunny on it and snowflakes. She only wants to wear her Olivia shirt. The child has 3 Olivia (the pig) shirts, and that’s all she seems to want to wear. Don’t get me wrong, I love Olivia, but she needs to wear other clothes. She throws a fit, starts crying, I told her she needed to choose one. “Olivia Shirt!” That is all I can get out of her. So, I told her that her Olivia shirt is dirty, she wore it already. “I wear it again!” I am very frustrated at this point. Skipping over all the screaming, she ends up in her Minnie Mouse shirt from our Disney World trip in November. Yet she is still crying. Although, now that I think about it, that could be because I told her no television tonight. Later after we get downstairs, she is still upset, and I tried to get her to stop crying. Yes my way was threats, like no T.V. at daycare (Ang’s) or no Gymnastics tomorrow. Of course I’m not going to do those things, but what else do I have? Finally, Daddy gets her to stop crying because she wants to go downstairs with him to let the dog (Ellie) outside. Immediately, she stops crying and says “mommy, I need a tissue.” I give her one; she goes with Daddy and Voila, a new child! Now I am just torn because unfortunately, she has her 3 year checkup tonight and has to get shots, do I still not let her watch T.V.? That was my morning, how about yours?
